THE DOCUMENTARY
What Does Weather the Storm Mean to You?
Weather The Storm began with a single question: How do you take a metaphor powerful enough to define a company, and bring it to life on canvas?
For SRA, the American bison has never been just a mascot. It’s a living expression of a belief that guides every decision we make: when the storm comes, you don’t run from it. You face it head‑on. This holds true not just for how we help clients, but has become a foundation of our corporate culture.
This documentary follows the creative journey to honor that idea through art. What started as a search for the right image became a much larger quest: to capture the spirit of an animal whose instinct for courage has inspired generations, from the Native peoples of the plains to modern leaders navigating challenges of every shape and size.
At the heart of the film is the partnership between SRA founder Van Carlson and celebrated wildlife painter Robert Copple – two individuals from very different worlds, brought together by a shared fascination with the bison’s uncommon bravery. Through interviews, field visits, and a behind‑the‑scenes look at Robert’s meticulous artistic process, Weather The Storm explores what it means to translate resilience, movement, and a philosophy of life into a single, iconic work of art.
This isn’t a story about a painting.
It’s a story about why it mattered.
Weather The Storm invites viewers into the plains where the bison still roam, into the studios where ideas become form, and into the conversations that shaped a visual symbol of SRA’s mission: to help American businesses stand firm, charge forward, and emerge stronger, together.
