IRS Direct Pay

Free online bank transfer

Preferred that the tax payment is made directly from your 831(b) Plan business checking or savings account. If your 831(b) Plan financial account does not allow tax payments, you may pay from a personal checking or savings account. No enrollment or registration is required—simply visit the IRS website and submit your payment.

Payments Accepted
  • Balances due on a return or notice
  • Extension payments
  • Quarterly estimated tax payments
What You’ll Need
  • 831(b) Plan EIN
  • Filing status and tax year
  • Bank routing and account number

Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS)

Schedule & track payments

A secure system run by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. EFTPS offers the flexibility to schedule payments in advance and view your complete payment history.

Payments Accepted
  • Balances due on a return or notice
  • Extension payments
  • Quarterly estimated tax payments
What You’ll Need
  • EFTPS PIN and password (mailed by IRS upon enrollment)
  • 831(b) Plan EIN
  • Bank routing and account number

Note: If your PIN has expired or you’ve forgotten it, you must request a new one — which can take several business days. Set up payments at least one day before the due date.

Same-Day Fed Wire

Same-day transfers

Wire funds directly to the IRS through your financial institution. Only use for time-sensitive payments that need to be processed the same day.

  • IRS wire transfer routing information
